Directed by Dr. Eddie Macias, the Residency’s Behavioral Medicine curriculum is longitudinal; integrated into all three years of residency training. The R1’s participate in their own Balint group and general Behavioral Medicine didactics. The R2’s have additional didactics during year-group sessions. The R2’s and R’3s participate in a combined Balint group led by Dr. Wendall Harry. The R3 year continues with didactic year-group sessions, but also includes FMC video review and some psychiatry as part of the Neuro-Psych rotation. The R3s also have about 10 clinic sessions per year dedicated to seeing their continuity FMC patients for extended counseling sessions with Dr. Macias.
