Natividad is a combination of modern facilities and sophisticated equipment with the knowledge that comes with a 119 year history of health care delivery to Monterey County residents.

We continue to earn high marks from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), a national organization that shares our desire to continuously improve patient care and safety.

The Board of Trustees, under the guidance of the Monterey County Board of Supervisors has responsibility for the governance of the medical center and related services. .

Our Medical Staff consists of more than 268 physicians representing 44 specialties who are attracted to Natividad’s academic environment. Natividad has been affiliated with the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine for the Family Practice Residency Program since 1974. Each year 8 physicians are admitted to the residency program for a total of 24 residents who will complete their training at NMC for board certification in Family Medicine. One third of the graduates remain on the Central Coast each year to establish a practice and provide this area with primary care physicians. NMC is an educational site for RN, LVN, and phlebotomy students from Hartnell Community College, and RN students from Monterey Peninsula College.

In addition to the main 172-bed inpatient facility, the Natividad campus includes outpatient primary clinics operated by the Monterey County Health department and specialty clinics operated by NMC. Outpatient Clinics and the Emergency Department combined have approximately 48,000 outpatient visits annually.

Our services combine the most highly trained clinicians and the best technology available today. In many cases, our programs and services have been the first and only one of its kind in Monterey County.
