Affiliated with the
University of California at San
Francisco School of Medicine since 1974, it is the only academic
medical center on the Central Coast and host to a nationally recognized
Family Practice Training Program, postgraduate training for physicians
specializing in the board-certified specialty of Family Medicine. Faculty
staff, a core medical staff and the residency program at the medical center
affords Natividad patients 24 in-house physician coverage.

The NMC's affiliation with UCSF extends to its Level III NICU which
opened in the fall of 2005. UCSF is recognized as having one of the top
ten Pediatric Centers in the United States.
