Natividad’s Nursing Education Department provides American Heart Courses for our staff and the community. They include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). We also offer the Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Course.
Trauma Prevention Programs
Natividad also offers a variety of Trauma Prevention Programs and classes. We have various community outreach programs and events, including car seat safety, our Brain Smart program with Matter of Balance classes, and bicycling safety.

Matter of Balance
Matter of Balance is a free, 8-week workshop to learn how to manage your concerns about falling. Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.
Winter class: 2/5/19-3/27/19 (Tuesdays) from 9-11 a.m.
Spring class: 4/23/19-6/11/19 (Tuesdays) from 9-11 a.m.
Summer class: 7/9/19-8/27/19 (Tuesdays) from 2-4 p.m.
Fall class: 9/3/19-10/22/19 (Tuesdays) from 2-4 p.m.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone concerned about falls
Has fallen or is at risk for falls
Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
Does not have dementia
Can walk independently (may use cane)
You Will Learn to:
View falls as controllable
Set goals for increasing activity
Make changes at home to reduce fall risks
Exercise to increase muscle strength and balance
