Overview:

The Department of Educational Services (DES) at NMC is responsible for a variety of orientation, inservice training, and continuing education services for all medical center employees, contracted individuals, and volunteers. The department conducts monthly hospital and nursing service orientations scheduled at various times to accommodate the needs of a 24-hour medical center.

Accredited Continuing Education Programs offered include:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Licensed Vocational Nurses
  • Licensed Psychiatric Technicians
  • Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Nationally approved provider of physician Continuing Medical Education (CME)

    • NMC is a Training Center approved by:

  • American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (CLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC)
  • Instructor courses for CLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP

    • In Addition:

  • Spanish for Healthcare Workers-Basic & Int.
  • Friendly Float Nursing Care Services in Peds & ICU, Maternal Infant Unit, Mental Health & NICU
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (M.A.B.) Training
  • Guest Relations - Basic & Advanced
