Media Policy:

New federal HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations became effective April 14, 2003. Due to stricter patient confidentiality requirements, the way hospitals respond to calls from the media have changed.

Natividad Medical Center strives to provide appropriate information about a patient's condition to those individuals authorized by the patient to receive such information. Inquiries from those not specifically authorized by the patient are handled according to the guidelines stated in our media policy.
