California Emergency Physicians (CEP) Medical Group, founded in 1975 and a premier provider of physician staffing, management, and consulting services for 56 Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care Practices in California, Oregon, Georgia, and Arizona has awarded Dr. Jeffery Bass, Emergency Services Director at Natividad Medical Center(NMC) the 2007 CEP Distinguished Service Award.

Dr, Bass, a partner in CEP was one of five physicians selected from over nine hundred CEP physicians nationwide to receive this honor.

Dr. Bass and the Emergency Services team at NMC initiated changes in the Emergency Department (ED) at NMC that led to significant reduction in patient wait times in the ED.

Most ED patients are seen by a health care professional within 30 minutes and the focus in the ED has been on improvement in customer service. CEP recognized the dramatic turnarounds within the NMC ED with recognition of Dr. Bass’s leadership.

Jerry Joseph, Physician Assistant in the Natividad ED has also received a CEP Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his clinical and teaching skills through Stanford University Physician Assistant Training Program.
