Prenatal Testing

If you have a high-risk medical condition, your health care provider may request that you have testing done once or twice a week to assure the health of your baby.

The tests that your health care provider may prescribe are:

NST : Non-Stress Test
Monitors are placed on your stomach to record your baby’s heartbeat and your contractions. This test gives your health care provider information about your baby’s health and how the stress of movement affects your baby.
AFI : Amniotic Fluid Index
An ultrasound measures the amount of fluid surrounding your baby inside your uterus. This test also provides information about your baby’s health.
