Pediatric Care at Natividad: We’re Here for You 24/7
When your child needs hospital care, you want to feel sure they are in the right place. You want doctors and nurses who understand kids, talk to you in a way you can understand and are ready to act at any hour.
At Natividad, pediatricians are in the hospital 24 hours a day, every day of the year. This means kids from birth to 17 years old get expert care right away, whether it’s an emergency, a hospital stay or care after they’re born. Natividad is the only hospital in Monterey County with pediatric doctors on staff overnight.
Children Need Care Designed for Their Specific Needs
Kids aren’t just small adults. They need doctors and nurses who know how to care for children and give the right treatments for their age and size. Because our pediatricians are always at the hospital, we can check on children quickly, change their care if needed and help them get home safely when they are better.
“When a child needs hospital care, families should know that a children’s doctor is there, day or night,” says Dr. Heloisa Junqueira, Chief of Pediatrics at Natividad. “At Natividad, our pediatricians are here 24/7 to care for each child’s age and needs. We also work with families, because parents and caregivers help kids heal.”
Natividad pediatricians are available for hospital stays, emergencies and newborn care. This helps bring pediatric knowledge into key moments of a child’s care, from a sudden illness or injury to the first days of life.
Pediatric Expertise, Always Close at Hand
Natividad’s Pediatric Unit is certified by California Children’s Services. Pediatricians are on-site 24/7, and our nurses are specially trained to care for children. Our team works to help every child feel as safe and comfortable as possible in the hospital.
Our 10-bed Pediatric Department provides acute care for children who need to stay in the hospital. Our doctors and nurses know that being sick, feeling pain or being in a new place can be hard for kids. We are here to help children and families through it.
Care that Supports Families
Families are a big part of a child’s care team. At Natividad, parents can stay in the room with their child except in the NICU. We have a kitchen so parents can make food their child likes. We also have playrooms and a lounge for teens.
