Dr. Gary Gray Appointed Natividad Medical Center Chief Executive Officer

The Monterey County Board of Supervisors is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Gray, DO, FAAFP as Natividad Medical Center’s (NMC’s) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective September 15th.

Dr. Gray, who has been serving as the hospital’s interim CEO for the past seven months, was selected following a national recruitment. 

Dr. Gray, certified by the American Board of Family Practice, has served in a number of physician leadership roles over the past 14 years at NMC including Chief Medical Officer, Chief of the Medical Staff, Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program, and Service Chief for Family Medicine. 

As a member of NMC’s Executive Team, Dr. Gray’s commitment to NMC’s mission and vision coupled with his professional expertise and working knowledge of the hospital has been invaluable in the operational and financial improvement of NMC.  He has played a critical role in the dramatic improvement in key quality metrics, assessment and development of new clinical services, recruitment of expert staff, and guidance in strategic planning to position the hospital for the dramatic changes associated with healthcare reform.   Dr. Gray led the planning team in the development and designation of NMC’s Level II Trauma Center, a prime example of NMC serving as a high quality healthcare institution focused on quality improvement and expanded services to the community.
