A new name, logo and website illustrate the hospital’s ongoing community commitment

Salinas, Calif. – May 16, 2018 – Natividad Medical Center will now be known as Natividad, the medical center that is “Inspiring healthy lives” for everyone in Monterey County. The subtle change in name reflects the central and expanding role Natividad, a public hospital serving the community for over 132 years, plays as a resource for advancing full and healthy lives.

The announcement was made today at a community event celebrating the 2018 launch of the Everyone’s Harvest Certified Farmers’ Market. Festivities included an unveil of Natividad’s new monument sign, a cooking demo by local Chef Sherrie Ransom, free samples, health education and giveaways.

“Natividad is on a first-name basis with everyone in the community. Our doctors, nurses, specialists and support team members provide comprehensive care that helps patients feel less vulnerable and get back on the road to healthy lives,” said Dr. Gary Gray, Natividad CEO. “From our health department clinics throughout the county to our community programs, we are a health care partner with purpose and impact beyond inpatient care.”

In addition to a top-in-class Trauma Center, Natividad offers an acute rehabilitation unit that gets people back on their feet with comprehensive care, a neonatal intensive care unit that gives parents hope and infants a fighting chance, and education programs that help patients turn the corner on chronic disease.

“Natividad has been and will continue to be a leading provider in the Monterey County health care landscape,” said Dr. Gray. “Regardless of who you are or your circumstances, we are here for you. Providing essential services for all is what drives our staff and innovation inside and outside the hospital.”

The name change comes with a refreshed logo that reflects the mountains surrounding Natividad’s Salinas location and the progress patients make with its high-quality care. These changes can be seen on Natividad’s new website and throughout Natividad’s medical campus.
