The Sam Karas Acute Rehabilitation Center Amputee Support Group Announces Its 2018 Support Schedule

SALINAS, CA. (March 6, 2018) — The Sam Karas Acute Rehabilitation Center Amputee Support Group will host a guest speaker at the group’s monthly support meetings through 2018.

This support group — Amputees Coming Together (ACT) — will provide attendees with encouragement and useful information regarding amputation. The goal of the support group is to observe others who are successfully coping with limb loss, learn new coping strategies and practice skills in a supportive environment.

The group’s first meeting is set for Thursday, March 15, from 6-7 p.m. at the Sam Karas Rehabilitation Center, (Main Dining Room), which is located at 1441 Constitution Drive, Building 100, in Salinas.

Other meetings in 2018 are scheduled for the same time and place on Thursday, June 21,
Thursday, Sept. 20, and Thursday, Dec. 20.

The group is facilitated by Pacific Medical. A Spanish-speaking assistant is also available.

The Sam Karas Acute Rehabilitation Center is designed to assist patients and their families with the transition from an acute hospital setting to home.
