Natividad wins BETA Quest for Zero Award! Natividad’s Emergency Department has been awarded BETA’s ED Quest for Zero, tier 2. The Quest for Zero ED is a two-tier program. Tier 1 focuses on education, providing individual participants with insight into their personal knowledge and judgment in a high-risk disease category seen in the emergency department. Tier 2 offers a menu of options to help set priorities based on risk-related trends specific to Natividad.
This award is presented to Emergency Departments that meet education and quality improvement criteria to reduce errors in patient care. Emergency Department staff, took and passed a grueling cardiac exam, designed to improve care and outcomes for chest pain patients. Additionally, a Severe Sepsis/Septic Shock management guideline was developed for early diagnosis and treatment of adult patients exhibiting signs of sepsis, severe sepsis or septic shock in the Emergency Department.
