Patient Privacy
Your privacy matters deeply to us. Natividad follows all federal HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), and Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) regulations to protect the confidentiality of your health information. We use strict safeguardsāboth physical and electronicāto ensure your medical information remains secure and is shared only when permitted by law or with your permission.
When you are admitted to the hospital, we will ask whether you would like Natividad to acknowledge that you are receiving care here. This choice is completely yours.
If you choose “yes,” we may confirm your presence in the hospital to callers or visitors who ask for you by name. This also allows family and friends to call your room directly, and it helps us guide visitors or deliver gifts to the correct department.
If you choose “no,” we will not acknowledge that you are here. Your name will not be shared with callers, visitors, or anyone who asks about you.
No matter what you decide, your personal health information will always remain protected, and our team will honor your preferences with care and respect.
