Clerkships

The 4th-year family medicine clerkship at Natividad is designed to prepare students for upcoming residency. The clerkship gives students valuable hands-on experiences, and students spend a significant amount of time with our current residents during Morning Report, education sessions, and patient care across settings.

Rotation Activities
Each student’s schedule is designed to appeal to individual interests within a family medicine framework. A typical four-week student experience includes inpatient service, night float, and outpatient continuity clinic. Students attend weekly half day resident education sessions.

Rotation Scheduling
We offer two to three spots per month to 4th-year students who speak Spanish and are dedicated to pursuing family medicine in underserved communities. There are no designated start or end dates for these clerkships, so that different university clerkship schedules can be accommodated.

Housing
A three-bedroom apartment within a mile of the medical center is available to visiting medical students. The house is fully furnished and equipped with the basic linens and appliances.
