  • June 28, 2012

SALINAS, CA (June 28, 2012) –Today the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, which affects nearly every American. Natividad Medical Center CEO Harry Weis, announced today that the hospital is grateful that the Supreme Court has preserved the opportunity to make the biggest improvements to health care in over 50 years.

“This law is the most important healthcare legislation since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid,” said Weis. “This historic ruling will help ensure that many more Americans have access to timely, affordable and high quality health care services. The current healthcare system is unsustainable from an access, cost, and quality perspective. Together, we must now move forward and make health reform real by expanding coverage and improving our nation’s health care delivery systems to be more efficient, accessible, and higher quality.”

Natividad Medical Center is deeply committed to continuing to make real, on-the-ground improvements to the Monterey County healthcare system to ensure that the goals of health reform translate to increased access, an improved health care experience, and better health for the residents in Monterey County.
